Plastic Wafer Frames
Lightweight PBT, PPS, and PC wafer frames with ESD-safe conductive grades, 50% lighter than metal equivalents.
Overview
Plastic wafer frames provide a lightweight, cost-effective alternative to metal frames for handling and dicing operations where extreme rigidity is not the primary requirement. Molded from engineering-grade PBT, PPS, or polycarbonate, these frames reduce operator fatigue in manual handling stations and minimize wear on automated material handling systems (AMHS) that cycle thousands of frames per shift.
Available in ESD-safe conductive grades (10⁴–10⁹ Ω/sq) for direct compatibility with static-controlled cleanroom protocols, or standard insulative grades for general-purpose use. GINECHIP offers both reusable, autoclave-tolerant frames for internal fab cycling and economical disposable frames for single-use outbound shipments — all molded in black as standard, with custom colors available for lot or process-step identification.

Applications
Lighter frames reduce operator fatigue and repetitive-strain risk during high-volume manual wafer transfer and inspection tasks.
Facilities cycling thousands of frames daily through automated material handling systems benefit from reduced mechanical wear and lower replacement costs.
Conductive plastic frames provide controlled static discharge for advanced CMOS and MEMS devices vulnerable to electrostatic damage during handling.
Disposable frame grades eliminate return-logistics costs for wafers shipped to foundry customers or external packaging houses.
Quality & Certification
All plastic wafer frames are injection-molded and inspected under ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management. Surface resistivity of ESD-safe grades is verified per ANSI/ESD S20.20 on every production batch, with certificates of conformance issued per shipment.
